Keleigh Teller made an unforgettable gesture for her and Miles Teller’s 5th wedding anniversary by surprising her husband in a way he never expected—by getting down on one knee and gifting him his dream boat.
On August 26, Keleigh, 31, shared an Instagram video of the surprise, which completely took Miles, 37, by surprise. “An early 5th anniversary surprise—Miles always said it’s not fair that men don’t get proposed to, so I cheesed out and did it for him with his dream boat,” she captioned the post.
In the video, Keleigh can be seen kneeling on the grass near a lake. As she does so, a green MasterCraft speedboat appears in the distance, heading straight toward the dock. “What is going on?” Miles exclaims, before sharing a kiss with his wife. “I bought you a boat!” Keleigh laughs as she reveals her surprise.
Along with the video, Keleigh posted a series of photos showing the couple and their friends—including actress Rebecca Rittenhouse—enjoying the boat, which was adorned with a “Happy 5th Anniversary” banner and a large red bow.
The couple, who have been together for 11 years, first met in 2013 at a party for the band The Black Keys. Reflecting on their early days, Miles recalled their first encounter to Vogue, saying, “Keleigh had caught my eye early in the night, and we talked. I didn’t think it went well, but after a few more attempts, I got her to dance with me, and a week later, we went on a date. After we met, I knew she was The One.”
Miles proposed in August 2017 while they were on a safari in Africa. “It was beautiful, and everything, and then it’s like we’re doing an impromptu engagement shoot,” Miles explained during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii, two years later.
A source close to the couple shared in May 2022, “Miles and Keleigh work because they are both the goofiest of people. They are silly, always making jokes and doing little bits with each other. They know how to make each other laugh and have fun together.”
